Volume 4: Luke 10 Trip (Part 1)

Our Luke 10 team
The school the Lord had led us to was one put on by The Last Reformation. It was called a Luke 10 school. Based around the principles of Luke chapter 10 where Jesus sent out His disciples to minister. One of the main goals is to build the disciples faith in Gods ability to provide, empower and lead those who trust in Him. Typically you will take nothing on the journey to really see the Lord provide in every avenue. What you see in the picture to the left is all I took with me, except my bible which was in the guitar case. We had no food, money or a place to stay. Actually I took $40 but gave it away as soon as I could because the Lord convicted me. 😅

We set off towards eastern Alpharetta, Georgia to look at an RV Andrew (far left) was considering buying to be full time on the road. The lady in the picture (third from left) had the RV on her property. We looked at it and as we were found out the lady had one blind eye. So we prayed for her eye and she said it was actually better! Praise God we thought! Even though it wasn't 100% we continued praying. Even took her inside and shared the Gospel with her. She was receptive but not someone completely open and seeking God so we considered it a seed planted and moved on from there. We went to one retail store and found no one. Then we went to another one which had the same result. Partially discouraged we decided to go to the mall. This was in the strictest part of covid restrictions so people were not really out. We got to the mall (which is where I gave away the $40 to a random person) and it was a ghost town as well. Literally about ten people in the whole place! Discouragement truly settled in at this point. It was almost comical how little we were seeing. No-one wanted prayer or even to talk, we felt as if maybe we would not see anything on our trip. We had no money, no food, no place to stay and hadn't seen the Lord move in someones life like we wanted. So at 5pm on a Friday afternoon, four hours from hour place of living, we sat defeated in the middle of a deserted mall.
Tim before healing

As we sat there I heard a Scripture in my heart, only it was said differently.
Luke 10:20 says "don't rejoice that the demons are subject to you but rejoice that your name is written in the Lamb's book of life." What I had heard in my heart was that scripture then a variant, "don't be discouraged if you aren't seeing anybody being healed or delivered, rejoice because your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life." My heart was immediately encouraged and filled with joy. There is a Rock we can stand on, a Truth that does not change, a foundation that cannot be shaken. That Jesus Christ is Lord, that He has saved us by His Blood and given us Eternal Life. The fact that He has given us so great of a salvation is something that does not change based on how much we minister or not. Some days we have fruit for His Kingdom, some days we may not. But if we stay in the grace of God by faith, then our name will never be blotted out of His Book. So from there we rejoiced and worshipped in the mall because of Gods love and promises. Then I had
a thought that we should go to Wal-Mart. So we made our way there encouraged
and willing to be used by God.
Time after healing

We got to Walmart and I prayed for one gentleman who was super encouraged by the Gospel that we shared with Him. Said he loved God but was struggling and that he really needed to be encouraged. Another seed planted. I then see a man in a wheel chair. His name was Tim, he told me he was in it because he had a narrowing spine that was very weak. I prayed for him once and he said it felt a little better. So I prayed again and asked Him to try and stand. He did and said it felt way better, almost 100%. So as He was standing we prayed again and He said it was all better! Praise God! We shared the love of God with him and the Gospel before we parted ways. One of the ladies was skeptic on our team so circled back around to see if he got back in the wheelchair and he never did!

This is where the details get specific and you really see God at work. Their was a couple named Eric and Pamela who were at our school. They were supposed to go on a Luke 10 trip as well but had to leave the school early because they had to work. Eric went to work Friday only to find out he didn't have to work the weekend but only that Friday. He was a little downtrodden to say the least. No only did he miss the Luke 10 trip but he probably could have gotten out of one day of work to make it. This is where the Lord steps in. We had conveniently enough went to Eric's town unknowingly for our trip! We had no idea that was where he lived! So somehow while we were praying with Tim and others, Andrew somehow connected with Eric (I think Andrew did bring His phone though most of us didn't). Eric and his wife are hispanic and had a huge hispanic community that they had been a part of for years that they really wanted to bring the power of the Gospel to. So from despair to rejoicing, then to seeing God move at Walmart, we had a place to go and dinner to eat. The Lord had opened a door for us! How faithful He is to those who seek Him. If you jump, He will catch you. I had no idea how much God would use us in that little hispanic community, but I was in for some things I had never seen before...
